A warm and relaxing inn.
‘Yagyu no Sho’ began in 1959 with a restaurant called ‘Yagyu’ in Shirokane, Tokyo, which originated from Kyo kaiseki.
Further deepening cuisine and spirit, it encountered the Japanese scenery remaining in the mountains of Shuzenji, leading to the opening of Shuzenji Onsen ryokan ‘Yagyu no Sho’ in 1970. Named ‘Yagyu’ because the founder enjoyed kendo, and found a new inn in bamboo groves and sukiya architecture.
Passing down the “warm and relaxing inn” cherished by the predecessor, it continues to seek an inn that combines the beauty of Japanese architecture, cuisine, baths, scenery, and hospitality.
In 2009, the 40th anniversary, gathered ancient craftsman skills for the main entrance, baths, and each room were renovated into authentic sukiya architecture. Prioritizing heartfelt hospitality, we continue to strive for a beautiful Japanese inn in every aspect.
